Lake Louise is a glacial lake feed from meltwaters from six glaciers.
The glaciers grind the rock beneath them into a fine powder. Meltwaters wash this powdere into the lake. The resultant silty water absorbs all colors of incoming light - except the striking turquoise and vivid blue that reflects back to our eyes.
Originally built as a base for outdoor enthusiasts and alpinists over 100 years ago, Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise is now a year-round luxury mountain resort
